I love to read short stories. I read several of them during a year's time, often in collections of authors I enjoy reading. It is also a great way to "test drive" an author I've never read before so I can determine if I want to read more by her/him. Robert at RobAroundBooks created a challenge for himself to read 100 short stories and has invited readers across the blogosphere to join him.
Since this is a perpetual challenge (which means there is no end date), I am more than ready to jump in! As much as I read and enjoy the short story format, I've never really kept track of the stories I've read. Now is my chance. I don't have all 100 stories selected yet, but I do have a good start and will continue to add stories as I decide to read them. I am aiming for a good balance of classic and contemporary authors, both male and female and will be reading primarily from collections and anthologies that I own. You can view my selections as well as follow my progress on my challenge page listed in the right sidebar.
Thanks, Robert, for coming up with such a great challenge!
Sharon - Thanks for taking up the challenge. I'm delighted you have, and look forward to following your progress (and I'm not just saying that to be nice. I REALLY mean it!)
Good luck
Robert

This is a great idea for a challenge! As much as I like shots (and shorts) I probably won't join in because I've sworn off challenges, but it is a wooonderful idea.

Robert: You are more than welcome :)
Andi: Maybe you'll change your mind? I hope so...
